You’ll learn observational drawing techniques to better see and depict the world around you! We’ll work from still lives you’ve set up and photographs in the media of; charcoal, pencil, coloured pastels and coloured pencils
*Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their drawing skills

Day 1 (Jan. 5th)
Theme: Tools or Kitchen Kitchen Inspired Still Life
Medium: Charcoal
Technique: Working with line and value. Finding basic shapes
Day 2 (Jan. 12th)
Theme: Still live with personal objects of sentimental value to you
Medium: Pencil
Technique: Measuring and approaches to the drawing process
Day 3 (Jan. 19th)
Theme: Flowers or plants, working from a still life or view of your garden
Medium: Pastels on coloured paper
Technique: Expressive mark making and colour theory
Day 4 (Jan. 26th)
Theme: Architecture working from a photograph of your home or house
Medium: Coloured Pencil
Technique: 1 & 2 point perspective
Day 5 (Feb. 2nd)
Theme: Interiors, drawing an interior view of your home
Medium: Pencil
Technique: Finding Angles & using a viewfinder
Day 6 (Feb. 9th)
Theme: Landscapes
Medium: Ink and mixed media
Technique: Using colour theory for creating depth and perspective

The sessions will be hosted through Zoom.
Please download the Zoom app. If you haven’t zoomed before don’t worry, it’s not complicated. A little blue camera symbol will pop up on your phone, pad and laptop.
You’ll find the Zoom link for the sessions on the booking ticket AND I will send you the link via email that will take you directly to the sessions (no password required) on the day of the workshop.
I will start the session 15mins before the official start of the workshop for the first session. This will give us an opportunity to iron out any technical difficulties if there are any and have a chat 🙂
Materials List
You’ll need a few basic materials for the course:
- A set up still life with objects or inspiration photograph from the theme of the day
Drawing Materials
- Pencil
- Charcoal
- Coloured chalk pastels
- Black India ink
- Brush
- Stick (Will give you more info on this)
- Paper, white and coloured
- Board (so support your paper)
- Eraser
- Paper towels / tissue
- Sandpaper
- Ruler
- Tape

- Easel
- Table cloth to protect table
